After reading about one of TRM’s award winning designs in Buffalo Spree, this new client contacted TRM to remodel their kitchen, dining and living room spaces to reinvent the first floor of their home to work with, rather than oppose, how they live their lives.
TRM created a new open floor plan combining the existing kitchen and dining room spaces which are open to the existing living room, unifying the spaces and creating better fl ow, giving the occupants the ability to entertain more easily. Outdated finishes and cabinets were replaced to create a modernized kitchen and dining space with improved functionality and aesthetic appeal. The design included new quartz counter-tops, floor tile, radiant floor heating, appliances, and wood baffle system on the ceiling.
TRM took on a challenge structurally when redesigning the layout of this 1920’s home. This included removing an existing load bearing wall and redirecting the load onto column supports to open up the spaces. Much of the underlying structure varied from what one might expect to find in such a situation. TRM coordinated the construction administration of the project to monitor quality, cost and timeliness.
