Gallagher Center

Division I Arena Renovation

Niagara University, NY

The mission of the Gallagher Center renovations was to improve the facility’s image as the home to a Division I Basketball program as well as for other large scale campus events that take place in the main gathering space, including updating the overall facility to current life safety, handicapped accessibility, and other applicable code issues.

All existing seating was replaced to meet current code requirements for egress, aisle ways and handicapped accessibility, including a range of multi-platform wheelchair locations along various sight lines. An expanded VIP seating section was featured with ergonomically designed chairs. State-of-the-art lighting, sound systems and communication hookups were upgraded to today’s technological advances and Division I standards. The existing heating and ventilation system was modified to provide proper air exchange and fresh outdoor air that is much needed when the space is fully occupied. At the consummation of the work, the Gallagher Center is handicapped accessible to all major floor areas and spaces.
